Startup scripts

If you're dealing with a lot of Pro/E and Intralink users, a customised Intralink & Pro/E startup could use 2 scripts like these to ensure all clients have the latest configs, etc...

Startup script - standard file with desktop shortcut on every client

Check which drive Pro/E is installed on & set a variable
Set path variables for network location of configs/standards files
Copy latest Config script & call it (see below)
Call standard Intralink script

Sample:

Config script - this can be updated more frequently, as the latest version is always copied

Check for & create workspace folder as required
Set Pro/E & Intralink paths
Delete temp files from last session
Compress local database file (using ldbcompact)
Copy latest configs from network to local drive (*.pro, *.win, *.dtl, templates, plot, modelcheck)
Add date & time stamp to user log (.txt file)

Note: These samples are greatly simplified, but show the principles - you may add more information, echo messages to the user, carry out other background operations, etc...
