Parish Church Hall, Burntisland
The 'Destroyer' tournament had a great atmosphere + loads of challenging techniques.
The Adult section had 10 competitors from Fife + Dundee, ranging from Yellow Belt to Black Belt.
A handicap system levelled the playing field, taking into account grade, age, gender + made it a close run thing!!
Hand techniques were first, including punch, sidefist, backfist, knifehands, reverse knifehands, twin punch, elbow and others...
Next came the kicks, including side, front, turning, back, reverse turning, hooking, reverse hooking, twisting, turning kick air break, etc...
Then jumping + special techniques, eg: jumping side kick, jumping spinning back, jumping 360, jumping high, jumping twisting, jumping double front kick, split kick, etc...
It went all the way to a tie-break, 4 different techniques finishing with flying side kicks over 4 brave volunteers!!! Ed just edged it + brought the 1st place trophy back to Dundee.
This will be an annual event, so hopefully there'll be plenty willing competitors for ASC Destroyer 2006!
