There’s a great range of Pro/ENGINEER resources on the World Wide Web:
I’ve put together a list of websites related to Pro/E which I have found useful in my ongoing work (& struggles?!) with Pro/E and Intralink.
This is by no means an exhaustive list - it is intended to be a quick run-down of places to go on the web for Pro/E help. There’s no attempt to rank or rate the sites. The following notes should also be taken into account...
Change - website content continually updates (if the site is still alive), and PTC have a habit of making interesting changes to the software. I’ll try to maintain an up-to-date copy of these lists on my Pro/E Help pages.
Relevance - you will find each resource more or less useful depending on your own situation and particular needs at different times.
Sometimes training will be a priority - see CADQuest, FroTime or CADTrain.
At other times, you may need some quick help when something puzzles you in Pro/E - try the prouser e-mail exploders or the Google group discussions.
By visiting the websites of Pro/Enthusiasts you can keep your finger on the pulse of Pro/E and learn all the latest tips, tricks and techniques.
Categories - I have put the sites into various groups depending on their focus or their main strength. Again, these categories are not definitive - they are only intended as a rough guide.
Almost everyone has some Pro/E hints or information to share with the rest of us - it’s a great way to learn how to get the best out the software.
I hope that you find these lists useful and that we continue to keep learning...
Also mentioned here - the Pro/E category in the Open Directory Project, which contains links and descriptions of Pro/E resources on the web.
PTC website - the latest product news and information.
One of the most useful parts of the site is the searchable Knowledge Base (for customers with a config ID). This knowledge base contains workarounds, fixes, known issues with the software and step-by-step guides for specific tasks.
The online software update section gives customers access to the latest build codes.
Pro/E Central is a great source of Pro/E information - especially the downloads, forums and tips.
Pro/E Magazine - online presence of the magazine
Pro/E resource portal, including:
Open Directory Project - a gateway to various Pro/E resources on the web.
Some of the Pro/E websites are described in these lists.
This is probably a good thing, as classroom training depends on users having sufficient time, inclination and patience to try out all the things they learnt in the training room. When information is available at your fingertips while you work, you’re more likely to retain what you learn.
I have to say that the online help available with newer versions of Pro/E is a great deal better than previous versions - there are detailed examples and step-by-step guides. With a larger Pro/E installation, it’s worth installing the html files centrally and allowing everyone access to the help start pages (this also reduces the amount of files duplicated locally on the clients).
Also, see the download section on the Fawcett site for help with config options, icon customisation and setup scripts.
CADTrain - Pro/E training. A range of self-paced ‘e-Learning’ courses, guiding users through all features of the software.
FroTime - Pro/E training and consultancy. There’s a selection of tutorials available to download, plus applications to improve the user interface with Pro/E & Intralink data.
CADQuest - Pro/E training, textbooks and interactive learning.
Fawcett Design, Inc - Product Development Company, using Pro/E
Their download section contains:
Bradley Beach Consulting - Pro/E information
Independent International Pro/E users group
Also home to the E-mail exploder lists (www.ptcuser.org/exploder/index.html). These are one of the best ways to find quick answers to questions - Pro/E or other topics. They distribute questions and answers among the list members using emails, daily digests, the website or newsgroup. Recent discussions include: Pro/E interface, feedback, training, compatibility, etc...
Regional user groups, representing states or countries.
A few examples of user group sites are given below:

San Diego Pro/E User Group
Pro/UK User group
North TexasUser group
