CADminTools - getting more out of CAD

Unique open-source license tracker approaches its first birthday...


In one year CADminTools has grown rapidly . . . from a simple graph-maker to a multi-function license tracker with integrated databases.

Popularity
Within a year, there have been over one thousand downloads of the installer package (see graph from sourceforge.net), by users and administrators all round the world.
There are also over 100 messages on the discussion forums, as users get to grips with installation, etc... Their positive response has confirmed CADminTools as probably the most popular license tracker available...

Open-source
The open-source nature of the project is a great bonus for users, since they can easily customise their implementation as they require.

For instance, some users have added more licenses to their own tracker, or adapted the original Windows-based code for their Unix servers.

There's also plenty scope for web-wise users to completely customise the look and feel of the tracker with stylesheets, or to alter the HTML or javascript if required. These alterations may also filter back into the original program...

User-driven development
The author has personally used CADminTools to monitor usage of 300+ CAD users at 24 locations worldwide, covering 5 application licenses and many user groups.
